URL Fields

URLs are the backbone of navigation on your website, connecting users to the right pages and resources. Whether you’re linking internally within your site, embedding external URLs, or adding inline links, the process is intuitive and streamlined. Just follow a few easy steps, and you’ll ensure seamless navigation throughout your site, making it simple for users to find exactly what they’re looking for.

Relative URLs

For relative URLs (internal links), include a forward slash, followed by the page name in lowercase, followed by a second forward slash (e.g., /our-services/). Relative URLs can be found within the admin site in their related area (e.g., page URLs can be found within Pages). It is recommended that spaces are replaced with hyphens (-). By default, during the creation of pages or app items, spaces are replaced with hyphens and some words are automatically omitted from URLs (e.g., the page ‘Heritage and Conservation’ will have the relative URL /heritage-conservation/) by default. This can easily be changed by editing the URL field.

Inline URLs

To reveal the inline URL input field (for example, when including a hyperlink within a Fluid Content’s Link List Object), simply highlight the word or phrase you wish to convert to a hyperlink. If you would like this link to open in a new tab, check the Open in New Tab checkbox. ⚠ Please note that the inline URL feature is not suitable for all Objects and Components.

Absolute URLs

For absolute URLs (external links), paste the full URL (e.g., https://morellocms.com) into the input field. It is recommended that absolute URLs are set to open in a new tab using the 'Open in New Tab' checkbox.
